Inspired partially by a short essay I wrote in response to a prompt about how I experienced authority as a child, I drew myself giving my inner child a hug. Looking for color inspiration, I found that both strength and shame were associated with the color red. So I chose a loving reddish-pink for me, a murky reddish-brown for her, and had them blend in the places where they met.
